About Steve
I am a 15-year career veteran of the Information Technology field turned personal trainer/fitness educator and now motivational speaker. I have had struggles with being overweight, overconsumption of food, clinical depression, anxiety attacks and thoughts of suicide (at times) throughout most of my young adult life. I turned my life around through the correct application of fitness training and proper, balanced nutrition. This is the ONLY way to create lasting change in one’s general health, fitness level, physique and overall well being.
In the mid-2000s, I took a hiatus from IT to career-transition into the health & fitness field with the express interest of helping people gain life ascension through fitness training & education. To do this, I becameĀ certified through theĀ National Academy of Sports Medicine and hold both the accredited and highly-respected NASM-CPT Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM-CES) certifications. The NASM-CES is an advanced-level specialization that focuses on developing corrective exercise protocols for people with postural deficiencies and musculoskeletal injuries of the foot/ankle, knee, lumbo-pelvic-hip complex, and shoulder, etc. I am also a Post-Rehabilitation Specialist and Certified Mind Your Body Nutritional Specialist.
I was recently given the gift of being able to pursue my life’s dream. I am currently building an ecommerce website while I develop my motivational speaking and fitness consulting & writing business.
My interest and education in fitness started as an avid enthusiast and subsequently as a fitness professional. I am committed to lifelong learning and keep current with the latest health and fitness information by following industry trends, research, and the work of top professionals in the field today. My professional experience includes working as a fitness trainer at traditional health clubs, in private personal training studios, and with my own clients in corporate and residential settings.
My philosophy is that regular exercise and proper nutrition will yield profound mental, physical, and spiritual benefits for anyone of any age, gender or current fitness level. My enthusiasm and passion for fitness is contagious. I conduct fitness training sessions with my clients in a non-intimidating, congenial, motivating manner while creating a fun, challenging, and safe environment in which my clients continually progress to higher levels of fitness. Results include an overall improved sense of well being, sharper mental focus, increased productivity, and stronger personal and professional relationships, allowing people to live happier, more functional and enjoyable lives.
I am a published fitness writer, self-professed Lifestyle Transformation Expert and member of Maximum Fitness Magazine’s Advisory Team. I consider myself a perpetual Student of Life, where I pursue altruistic, humanistic, and philanthropic interests.

My new site, www.finallyfitatforty.com is a work-in-progress and will detail my story on how fitness & nutrition quite literally saved my life.
As of August, 2009, I have been asked to write for the National Federation of Professional Trainers (www.nfpt.com) and will be writing articles on training, motivation, and other related health & fitness topics.
