It’s been a while since I last blogged
Posted January 26, 2010 by SteveCategories: Uncategorized
As you can see, the last time I made a blog entry was 11/13/09. With the holidays, along with some personal challenges I’m currently going through, I kind of fell off the blogging bandwagon. The good news is that I’m still hard at work on my Lifestyle Transformation Success Program and am in negotiations with two Borders bookstores in Connecticut to do some public speaking. I’ll post more information as these developments materialize.
I’m still on track to be in the best shape of my life by my 40th birthday, May 30, 2010. My goal is to see my abs. I know I can do it.
Stay tuned…
I smoked the 70 lb. dumbbells!
Posted November 13, 2009 by SteveCategories: Uncategorized
I put up the 70 lb. dumbbells for 9 reps on the flat bench press today! I had previously been doing incline presses, which are more difficult; as such, one typically can’t lift as much on the incline as on the flat bench. I had a little difficulty lifting them into position (my forearm strength is comparatively weak) but once I locked them into position, they went up nicely.
The 75s are next!!!
The weight just keeps coming off!!

Today’s weigh-in: 229.5 lbs!!!! I’m only between 10-14 lbs. away from my goal weight of 215-220 by 12/15/09!!!
When you have a plan, the right plan, weight loss (or rather, fat loss) is inevitable. I am creating a course called Steve Scipioni’s Lifestyle Transformation Success Program (LTSP) that will be workshop based as well as delivered online. The message forums are up and available at www.finallyfitatforty.com/forums. The site will eventually be subscription-based (a nominal fee of about $9.95 a month) but you can sign up and participate for free now until I get the ecommerce backend working.
Please join and participate in my forums.
New low weight!
Posted November 2, 2009 by SteveCategories: Uncategorized
I weighed in at 231.5 lbs. the other day. I feel great and am getting ready for my first motivational seminar, which is on Wednesday, Nov. 4th at 5:30PM at The Spa at Glenpointe in Teaneck, NJ.
I put up 65 lb. dumbbells for reps yesterday!
Posted October 28, 2009 by SteveCategories: Uncategorized
I’ve been working with Carlos and John at Adrenalin Gym on my incline dumbbell bench presses. I told them I’ve never been a strong lifter, and they won’t accept that (in the best way possible).
Yesterday I did the 60s for 12 reps, then John helped me (I lifted the weight all myself; he helped me prepare psychologically for the lift) do the 65 lb. dumbbells for 5 reps! I couldn’t get the dbs in position at first, and my mind was fried at that point, but John wouldn’t let me quit. I got back on the bench and repped ‘em out for a good quality 5 reps! Thanks to both John & Carlos!!!
The mind is a powerful motivator (or if you let it, “demotivator”). Next time, I’m going to try for the 70s!!!
I did my first plyometric workout today
Posted October 25, 2009 by SteveCategories: Uncategorized
Carlos at Adrenalin Gym took me through an intense 30-minute plyometric workout today. It is something I had never done and was a real eye-opener. Very little weights were involved and was principled around explosive movements performed in a superset fashion. I was winded, cotton-mouthed, sweating like a pig, and panting like a dog.
I looked at Carlos at one point and said “I hate you right now” (with a smile on my face). With a grin from ear-to-ear, he smiled back and said, “I know, but you love it anyway” to which I said, “Yes!”
Thanks to Carlos for helping me push the envelope and achieving what we collectively called a new metabolic set point.
This goes to show that everyone can benefit from hiring a personal trainer — even personal trainers that are in the business and regularly train themselves. As a matter of fact, I do not consider myself or Carlos a mere “personal trainer.” We are Fitness Educators. No semantics here and more than a slight terminology shift, it amounts to a BIG DIFFERENCE. If you are not currently working with a fitness professional, I encourage you to hire a Fitness Educator today.
One more pound lost!

I put up 60lb. dumbbells on the incline bench press for 10 reps on Monday, 10/19! Big thanks to Carlos at Adrenalin Gym (www.adrenalinusa.com) for helping me with the psychology of the lift!
Another 1.5 lbs. lost forever!
Posted October 18, 2009 by SteveCategories: Uncategorized
Today’s weigh in: 233 lbs.
That’s 1.5 lbs. lighter than I was on 10/10, eight days ago. So, on average, I’ve lost between 1.5 to 2 lbs. per week since my the start of my transformation on 6/8/09.
Only 15-18 more lbs. to go to reach my goal weight of 215-220 by 12/15!!!
